Description
Perspective of the Rideau Canal and locks in Ottawa, Ontario, photographed from the Parliement Hill and looking towards the Ottawa river and Gatineau, Quebec. The famous Rideau Canal of 126mi long and 46 gates, links the Ottawa River, at Ottawa, with the Saint Lawrence River at Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Ottawa, the locks are located between the Pariament buildings on the left and the Fairmont-Chateau Laurier hotel on the right. I made my original travel photograph as a vintage postcard with monotone sepia tones and scratches.
