Description
While exploring the ruins of the Pakal City in Palenque, Mexico, I noticed this big wasps nest (never seen one before), hanging from the ceiling, inside of one of the Mayan structures. For me it was extremely interesting, so, despite the low light I took a close-up photo and edited as well as I could, to bring up more details. I just learned that they where actually bald faced hornets - as a city "girl" I cannot make the difference - It was equally exciting for me to see, watch and photograph them :)

Eek! So intriguing yet and perhaps because it’s also a little terrifying! Nice composition too.
