Description
The large green Yaquina Bay Bridge with arches spans over Yaquina Bay south of Newport, Oregon. An overcast sky, and the texture of the image gives it a painted appearance to this photo taken in a rainy spring day. The intricate structure of this historic brige and the surrounding trees create a scenic view, suggesting a blend of human engineering and natural beauty.
It is one of the most recognizable of the U.S. Route 101 bridges designed by Conde McCullough, and one of the eleven major bridges on the Oregon Coast Highway.
