Description
Looking up at the vaulted ceilings of Almudena Cathedral in Madrid, Spain, with intricately designed patterns and a vibrant blue background adorned with stars. A circular central window allows natural light to illuminate the ornate ceiling, highlighting the red, gold, and white accents. The cathedral is the most important religious architecture in the country, and the first church consecrated outside of Rome, which has been done by Pope John Paul II. The whole building is of a stunning beauty, but this cupola ceiling is one that impressed me most - what a piece of architectural art!
