Description

A small red lily beetle feeds along the edge of a green leaf, its glossy body clearly defined against a soft, blurred background. Irregular holes in the leaf mark the insect’s activity, revealing a direct interaction between the plant and the bug. The strong contrast between red and green draws attention to both form and behavior.

The insect, Lilioceris lilii, commonly known as the lily leaf beetle, feeds on the leaves, stems, buds, and flowers of lilies, fritillaries, and other plants of the Liliaceae family. Photographed in Ontario, Canada, in late spring, and edited today, this close-up focuses on detail and scale, capturing a small but noticeable presence within the natural environment.

Bring a sense of close observation and natural detail into your space with this image focused on one of the smaller elements of a garden ecosystem. Available as wall décor, home accents, and gifts, all produced to fine-art standards and backed by a 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee.
