Artist's Description
Peggy's Cove Lighthouse in Nova Scotia, Atlantic Canada, stands on rugged rocks overlooking the ocean, silhouetted against a vibrant sunset. The sky displays a breathtaking gradient of colors, with warm reds and oranges blending into more terrific blues and purples. It may be the most popular tourist place near Halifax. I photographed it right after sunset when the light magically appeared from below the horizon line of the Atlantic Ocean.
* This image, with its calming colors and serene setting, has been chosen to be printed and exposed in hospitals all over the world as a form of art therapy, a practice that uses visual art to improve and enhance mental health.

About Tatiana Travelways
Welcome to my Fine Art America gallery! I'm Tatiana, known online as Tatiana Travelways. My work is rooted in my love of travel and my passion for capturing the spirit of the places I have visited. From history and architecture to everyday life and, oh, those "seen but not noticed" details that make the world so fascinating :) Photography has been part of my life since the 1970s, when I got my first Russian-made black and white camera (I grew up in Eastern Europe). At about that time, I also learned to develop and print my own film - no digital photography in those years. Alongside photography, my creative journey also included painting and fashion design, while later, after moving to Canada, I added computer graphics to my artistic...

What a wonderful photograph, Tatiana. My wife and I spent a week touring Nova Scotia way back in 1984. One of the most emotional, though scenic, stops was here at Peggy's Cove. At sunset, a man would play the bagpipes in honor of all those who had lost their lives to the Atlantic Ocean (which, by the way, many of the victims of the Titanic were brought and buried in Halifax, Nova Scotia, also a stop on our journey and also, very emotional. My Great-Grandparents had emigrated from Scotland to Nova Scotia back in the 19th century. Even have a little town named after us, 'Maxwellton!' Thanks, Tatiana for your great shot and a great trip down memory lane. Peace, Max
