Description
A vibrant mural with native american art depicts a stylized human figure surrounded by geometric shapes and symbols, with elements resembling plants and celestial motifs. Warm tones and intricate details create a sense of cultural significance and storytelling. I took my travel photograph inside the Desert View Watchtower at the Grand Canyon, Arizona. The "Indian" watch tower was built in 1932 by Fred Harvey and Santa Fe Railroad as a Hopi art sanctuary. Among many artists participating in this cultural project, Fred Kabotie, a native Hopi artist painted the second floor featured in my picture with replicas of petroglyphs at Abo, New Mexico (now destroyed).
