Description
The majestic Kakabeka Falls waterfall with tawny hues, cascades forcefully over rocky ledges amidst a verdant forest landscape. An observation deck with visitors peers out over the scene, offering a panoramic view of the natural beauty.
This is the second-highest waterfall in Ontario, Canada, with a drop of about 40m (130 ft), and it is often called "the Niagara of the North". The name comes from the indigenous Canadian First Nations word "Gakaabikaa" - in translation: "waterfall over a cliff"
I photographed this vibrant landscape Near Thunder Bay in late springtime.
