Description
If you didn't know, Hamburg has the most number of bridges than any other city in Europe - 2,496 as a matter of fact. All these bridges cross the many canals and 3 rivers flowing to the North Sea, trough the great Hamburg Harbor. Because of this, this North European city is also called the "Venice of the North". During our tour visiting the harbor and surrounding area, we could admire some of these bridges, some older, some newer, old historic walls, buildings and architecture. In this particular picture you can see some weathered brick walls and a stairway going up from the water level to the city's streets level. I slightly digitally enhanced my photo with a painterly look to bring up more architectural details.
