Description
A swan gently touches its beak to a newly hatched cygnet amidst a clutch of eggs. The moment captures the beginning of life as the cygnet rests in the safety of the nest, surrounded by unbroken and broken eggshells. I photographed this tender motherhood moment.
While traveling in Bavaria, by Lake Constance, Germany and watched this mother bird first building her nest. Later, I was able to capture the firstborn coming out from his egg using my telephoto. Just look at his big paw and his still wet ruffled plumage.
