Artist's Description
The spring of the Danube river, captured in Donaueichingen, a small town in the Black Forest mountains (Baden-Württemberg), Germany
Fürstenberg-Donaueichingen county was created by the partition of the Fürstenberg-Heiligenberg county, in 1619 and
the construction surrounding the spring resides on the domain of the Fürstenberg family, where is also the castle with the same name and a cathedral. (The zone is partially under construction and I couldn't get any decent shots of the castle)
The family also owns the main (maybe the only one) brewery in the area - Fürstenberg - we enjoyed the bier :)
The water goes from here to the small river (Breg), which joins another river (Brigach) 1 km farther. From that point
it is known as the Danube and it is the second big river in Europe, after Volga.
