Artist's Description
The curved stone facade of the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada fills the frame with flowing lines and layered surfaces. Pale limestone panels bend across the exterior, forming a continuous rhythm of curves, seams, and shadowed recesses. The stone texture remains clearly visible, emphasizing material, scale, and construction.
Designed by architect Douglas Cardinal, the building moves away from rigid angles and instead relies on organic geometry shaped by movement and form. The photograph focuses on the relationship between curve, surface, and light as it defines the facade, turning architecture into a study of structure and design.
This architectural image highlights geometry through real materials and built form, offering a strong visual presence rooted in place and intention.
