Artist's Description
Cadaqués, Spain skyline viewed from across the blue Mediterranean seawater, in a sunny happy day of summer. Cadaques is a small touristic fishing village, home of the Salvador Dalí House-Museum on a bay on the Costa Brava of the Mediterranean (North east of Spain). This popular travel destination is at about two hour drive from Barcelona. The tallest building is the late-17th century Church of St. Mary. Because of the presence of Salvador Daly, the place was also visited by other well-known artists including Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Marcel Duchamp, Richard Hamilton, Albert Ràfols-Casamada, Antoni Pitxot, Henri-François Rey, Melina Mercouri and Maurice Boitel also spent time here. Cadaqués is mentioned in the story "Tramontana" by Gabriel García Márquez.
