Viewed from above, the cactus has a spherical shape with spines radiating outward, creating a striking contrast with the rounded stones surrounding it. This beautiful Barrel Cactus creates a nice natural outside decor in the desert environment. I took my photo in Green Valley, Southern Arizona

I love the golden barrel cactus, especially when it flowers during the wet summer season. I like its quirky name, mother-in-law cushion. It does create a wonderful abstract effect on the round beach towel. They are rare in the wild due to all the poaching in their native environment of the Chihuahuan Desert. I love this perspective of the barrel cactus too. LF
