Artist's Description
A rustic Mexican-style adobe house is surrounded by a weathered wall and wooden gate, with a few bare trees in the background. The winter sunlight casts warm hues across the scene, creating a serene, natural atmosphere of a rural environment. I photographed it in La Mesilla, New Mexico, on a cloudy day in December, in the afternoon golden light. Close to the Mexican border, this historic town is part of the Las Cruces Metropolitan area, and it was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1961.
