Description
I saw and photographed these female Desert Bighorn Sheep in the Valley of Fire National Park, Nevada, in a day trip from Las Vegas. The wild sheep (Ovis canadensis nelsoni), live in the mountains of the southwestern regions of Nevada, but they also exist in Arizona, southeast California, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Texas and Mexico. Although they are quite conspicuous, you need a little luck to see them, especially with their camouflaging brown gray color, blending into the dry bushes and desert vegetation. Scared about the tourists, they were cautiously watching me - what a nice pose :)
